- Up in It was for Sub Pop the first release for a band outside of the Seattle area and was for the Afghan Whigs the first true step towards its own sound. Greg Dulli was always exhibited a stronger lyrical focus than his fellow Sub Pop brethren, and here he delivers intricate and lush stories from a rock singer's voice. Musically, the album still resembles the Replacements, but it is much stronger lyrically.
